Our oceans provide critical ecosystem services and support
the most abundant populations on earth

The extent of damage impacting oceans and the diversity of strategies to protect them is disconcertingly, and disproportionately, understudied. Some issues, like pollution, are more visible and garner more public support for their causes, while other issues, such as ocean acidification, remain less known. In both cases, the effects are far-reaching and permanent if ignored.

As the population grows and we become increasingly dependent on our natural resources, we must work together to address the issues that directly affect our communities. We are each able to do our part in preserving our most important natural resource.
