Our Mission

Clean Oceans is a non-profit maritime cleanup advocacy group located in South Florida, United States.  Our clean water efforts are focused on rivers, bays, inland waterways, and oceans.

Our founders have over 200 years of experience in the maritime industry and our  staff includes Marine Biologists, Ship Captains, and Divers.  Our background includes Environmental Disaster Cleanups, Dredging Services, Reef Rehabilitation, and Marine Construction. 

At present, our offshore and inland waterways are contaminated with single use plastics, petroleum products, and drainage and fertilizer runoffs.  Our work is based upon waterway cleanups using skimmer boats, clean up barges, turbidity booming as well as educational beach and coastal gatherings. 

Since I was an adolescent, I was raised on the ocean…

I watched sandbars come and go, watched areas closed to fishing, and no shellfish taking allowed.  I’ve worked in the maritime industry for 30 years, specializing in heavy construction in New York all the way down the coast to Florida and I’ve seen firsthand the threat that PCBs and Dioxins pose to our waterways.

Each year I found myself increasingly frustrated with the level of pollution that was entering our oceans.  I was disheartened to be regularly sifting through large patches of floating plastic bags as I navigated offshore waters on fishing trips with my son.

I became determined to use my expertise and resources to shift my focus towards helping preserve our waterways.  They have provided for so much enjoyment throughout my life and I will do everything I can so that they continue to do so for the generations to come.
